What to expect
Once a referral from your family physician or nurse partitioner is received and accepted at Summit NeuroCare you can expect to receive a call from us within 5 business days to book you in for an appointment.
One the day, please bring your health card to validate your details and any medication you are currently prescribed. If your health card has expired, we request that you renew it before attending.
Summit NeuroCare is proud to be recognized by Queen’s University’s Department of Family Medicine as an approved training site.
As part of this teaching role, you may be seen by a Family Medicine resident during your appointment. Dr. Tariq Hassan will also see you and will remain directly involved in your assessment, diagnosis, and management decisions.
Your consultation may last anywhere from approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. If medication(s) are indicated this will either be recommended to your nurse partitioner/family physician or be prescribed by Dr. Hassan and a prescription sent to a pharmacy of your choosing.
Some follow-up may be provided depending on individual circumstances.
