What is Summit NeuroCare?

Summit NeuroCare is a community-based psychiatry practice offering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. We specialize in both traditional and advanced treatments to support your journey toward wellness.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

To see a psychiatrist will require a referral sent to Summit NeuroCare by your family physician to our confidential and secure fax number 613-847-4331. We request that you do not fax any personal information to this number as this will be deleted.

What is TMS, and how does it work?

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. It’s a safe and effective option for treatment-resistant depression.

Do you offer psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is offered on-site through J&K Mental Health. Therapies include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, couples counselling and more.

Do you offer urgent appointments?

Our aim is to keep our waitlist within 4 weeks of accepting a referral. We do not offer urgent appointments.

What conditions do you treat?

Our team treats a broad range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and trauma-related conditions.

What is ketamine therapy used for?

Ketamine therapy can provide fast-acting relief for individuals with severe depression, suicidality, or particularly when other treatments have not been effective.

Are your services available virtually?

A comprehensive and accurate consultation requires that this take place in-person. We offer some virtual appointments for psychiatric follow-up appointments to accommodate your schedule and location.

What services do you offer?

We provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, psychotherapy through JK Mental Health.

What is a holistic approach to mental health?

Our holistic approach looks beyond symptoms, considering the mind, body, environment, and lifestyle factors to create a personalized, integrated treatment plan.

Is TMS and Ketamine covered by OHIP?

No. These are covered either through certain extended health benefit plans or as an out of pocket expense

Are your services covered by insurance?

Psychiatric consultations are covered by OHIP with your family physician’s referral. Others, such as TMS, ketamine therapy, and psychotherapy, may be covered under private insurance plans or require out-of-pocket payment.
