Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Healing trauma with fewer sessions, less talk, and real results

At Summit NeuroCare, we offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) — a fast-acting, trauma-focused therapy that helps you recover from targeted experiences in just a few sessions. It’s evidence-based, non-invasive, and doesn’t require talking through every detail of the past.

What is ART ?

ART is a short-term therapy that uses eye movements and guided visualization to help the brain “unstore” traumatic memories. The facts of the event remain, but the emotional pain fades. Most people feel significant relief in 3 to 6 sessions.

What can ART help with?

  • Trauma and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Grief and loss

  • Phobias

ART is especially helpful for veterans, first responders, and survivors of trauma who may find traditional talk therapy overwhelming.

How Does It Work?

ART uses smooth eye movements to calm the nervous system and help reprocess painful memories. You’ll visualize scenes guided by your therapist, and without needing to go into detail, your brain begins to feel “unstuck.” Many clients report feeling calm, in control, and hopeful after even one session.

What to Expect in a Session

Sessions last about 50–60 minutes

  1. No need to relive or retell your trauma

  2. A supportive, confidential space

  3. Noticeable results in a short number of sessions

Is ART Evidence-Based?

Yes. ART is supported by clinical research and peer-reviewed studies. It’s listed in the U.S. National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices.
