Missed Appointment & Late Cancellation Policy

At Summit NeuroCare, appointment times are reserved exclusively for each patient to ensure timely access to psychiatric care. When appointments are missed or cancelled without sufficient notice, this limits availability for other patients in need.In accordance with guidance from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA):Fees may be charged for missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice. Such fees must be reasonable and reflect the time reserved and practice costs. Patients must be informed of these fees in advance

Our Policy

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a first time consultation appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations of a consultation appointment may be subject to a $150 fee. This fee is not covered by OHIP. We recognize that unforeseen circumstances may arise. In keeping with CPSO guidance, exceptions may be considered in appropriate situations, including emergencies.
