Rachael Henry
Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist
What makes someone resilient? I have been driven throughout my career to find out. I hold a Masters of Social Work from the University of Waterloo as well as Bachelors of Psychology & Social Work from McMaster University. In addition, I have completed training in a number of therapeutic modalities including Accelerated Resolution Therapy and trauma informed care.
I want you to feel comfortable and confident during our time together. I know it can be difficult to open up about life's challenges and I don't take it for granted. My approach is empathy driven and respectful. I strive to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where your concerns can be shared, and you feel empowered. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a collaborative and creative approach in which the structure allows you to explore, find meaning, and reconnect with your inner strength.
My work experience includes providing psychotherapy and social work services for individuals with severe and treatment resistant mental health conditions within the hospital setting. Prior to working in mental health I provided support to individuals who had experienced a brain injury. I have spent two decades working within the human services field and witnessed countless acts of resilience.
I value your unique perspective and aim to foster a collaborative and transformative relationship with you.
